Mortal Shell 2 Merrick Guide: Shop Stock, Healing Upgrades & Louis
馃幆 TL;DR: Merrick runs the shop in Marrow Keep's east wing (with his Great Dane, Louis). His two healing upgrades should be your first purchase 鈥?they make early bosses survivable.

鈿狅笍 Buy doesn't auto-apply: buying a Revered Gland or Synaptic Vessel does not automatically upgrade you. Take the item to any Beacon, open the Mether's Pulse menu, and spend it there.
2. How to Unlock Merrick's Shop
His shop is closed on your first visit and no dialogue opens it. Fast travel to any Beacon, then return to the hub 鈥?his stock is live when you come back. He hands you an Axe and Dagger location map as an apology, so the trip isn't wasted.
3. How to Pet Louis the Dog
Louis refuses the Harbinger in most Shells 鈥?but Proxima the Broodseeker is the only Shell he accepts. Equip Proxima, walk up to him beside Merrick's counter, and the petting prompt appears.
