Mortal Shell 2 Obsidian Hammer Guide: The Slowest (and Strangest) Weapon

Updated Aug 31, 2026 | C-Tier — a niche heavy
🎯 TL;DR: The Obsidian Hammer has the slowest attacks in the game. High base damage + exclusive Colossus Stone, but its DPS lags behind due to slow swings. Find it in the Obsidianite Mines.

1. What It Offers

⚠️ The problem: Its overall DPS doesn't keep pace with higher-tier options because so much time passes between swings.

2. Where to Find It

  1. Go to the Obsidianite Mines, at the bottom of the central circular area in the Abandoned Slums (Ruins of Mammon)
  2. From the Outskirts of Mammon beacon, head west to the quarry with the flooded pit
  3. Drop in — the descent is a controlled fall through a chasm, ledge by ledge
  4. Defeat the Prophet of Profane Infinities to claim it
💡 Note: The map runs 1300 coins from Merrick if you don't want to explore blind.

3. Should You Use It?

Only if you enjoy a very specific, patient playstyle built around its slow timing. Landing a stagger buys a full opening, but missing is heavily punished. Most players are better served by the Great Martyr's Blade for slow-hit play.

🎯 Bottom line: The Obsidian Hammer is a novelty with a niche — its Colossus Stone + 12-slot pool make it rebuildable, but it's not a first-choice weapon.
