Mortal Shell 2 Veteran's Battle Axe Guide: Good Damage, Slow Swings
🎯 TL;DR: The Veteran's Battle Axe has good damage and decent AoE on both light and heavy swings — but its slow animation speed leaves you exposed. Find it in The King's Crypt.
1. What It Offers
- Good damage + decent AoE on light and heavy swings
- 8 Tarstone slots with Inflamed Clawstone as the recommended infusion
⚠️ The problem: Mistimed attacks leave you exposed in a way faster weapons simply don't. It's a mid-tier weapon that's fine, but not optimal.
2. Where to Find It
- Go to The King's Crypt in the Blackridge Cliffs
- Reach the Blackridge Pass Beacon, then the path up to the Shattered Beacon (where Proxima is unlocked)
- Look behind that beacon for the dungeon entrance below
- Drop into the hole inside the cavern (rather than circling around)
- Grab it off a body at the back of the room
💡 Shortcut: Merrick sells the map for 300 coins.
3. Should You Use It?
If you like axes and can handle the slower timing, it works. But the Axe and Dagger is a straight upgrade for aggressive play, and the Great Martyr's Blade out-damages it for slow-hit playstyles.
🎯 Bottom line: The Veteran's Battle Axe is "fine, not great" — use it if you like the feel, but don't expect it to compete with the S-tier picks.
